CANVASSING THE RETURNS; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE RUN-OFF ELECTION HELD ON JUNE 5, 2021, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
MEMBERS FOR DISTRICTS 6, 7, 8, AND 9 OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH
WHEREAS, on January 26, 2021, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 24687-01-2021,
calling for and ordering a general election to be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, and a run-off election to
be held on June 5, 2021, if needed, at which general election all qualified voters of the City of Fort
Worth would have the opportunity to vote for the purpose of electing a Mayor at large and eight (8) City
Council Members from their respective districts; and
WHEREAS, on May 1, 2021, the general election was held at which the qualified voters
of the City had the opportunity to vote for the purpose of electing a Mayor at large and eight (8)
City Council Members from their respective districts; and
WHEREAS, no candidate received a majority of the total number of votes received by all
candidates for the office of Mayor or of City Councilmember for District 6, 7, 8, or 9; and
WHEREAS, on June 5, 2021, a run-off election was held at which the qualified voters of the
City had the opportunity for vote for the purpose of electing a Mayor and the qualified voters of City
Council Districts 6, 7, 8, and 9 each had the opportunity to vote for the purpose of electing a
Councilmember for their respective district; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Texas Election Code, the City Council of the City of
Fort Worth is required to canvass the returns and declare the results of the election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH THAT:
SECTION 1. The declarations and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby found to be true and correct and shall be made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that the run-off election was held on
June 5, 2021, at which election qualified voters of the City were given the opportunity to vote for the
purpose of electing a Mayor at large and qualified voters of Districts 6, 7, 8 and 9 were given the
opportunity to vote for the purpose of electing a City Council Member from their respective district.
SECTION 3. The City Council further finds and declares that the returns for such election are
as follows:

SECTION 4. The City Council further finds and declares that such returns are correct and
adopts them as the returns of the run-off election held on June 5, 2021, together with the tabulation of
the total number of votes received in each precinct.
SECTION 5. The City Council further finds that each of the following persons be declared
elected to the office as noted:
Mayor Mattie Parker
Council — District 6 Jared Williams
Council — District 7 Leonard Firestone
Council — District 8 Chris Nettles
Council — District 9 Elizabeth Beck
SECTION 6. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting of the Fort Worth City
Council at which this Resolution was adopted was open to the public, and that public notice of the time, place,
and purpose of said meeting was given, as required by Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
SECTION 8. This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption on this 15t' day of June, 2021.
