APPROVING COVIDI9 PERFORMANCE INCENTIVE PAYMENTS
FOR GENERAL EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS 2020 was an extremely difficult and stressful year for everyone in Fort
Worth and around the country due to the COVID19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS the City of Fort Worth employees stepped up to the challenge and worked
tirelessly for the citizens of this great City; and
WHEREAS in February of 2021, the City of Fort Worth experienced an unprecedented,
once -in -a -generation winter event and once again the City employees worked tirelessly, at times
in unsafe conditions, for our citizens; and
WHEREAS at the beginning of 2021, all sworn employees, both Police and Fire,
received annual raises through pay increases according to the Meet and Confer and Collective
Bargaining Agreements respectively, but the General Employees did not receive any increases
due to projected revenue shortfalls tied to the pandemic; and
WHEREAS, in appreciation of the hard work and dedication made by the General
Employees, the City Manager is recommending an across the board, one-time lump sum
incentive payment equal to 2% of the annual pay for each General Employee hired prior to
January 1, 2021, including District Directors and appointed officials, which will be considered
pensionable earnings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
1. An across the board, one-time lump sum incentive payment equal to 2% of the annual
pay for each General Employee hired prior to January 1, 2021 be approved and
processed on the May 28, 2021 paycheck.
