ORDINANCE NO. 16927-05-2006 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A TEN FOOT WIDE ALLEY BETWEEN CRAWFORD STREET AND CALI30UN STREET AND EXTENDED FROM LUEDA STREET NORTH TO CANNON STREET, ADJACENT TO LOTS 1 TI~ROUGH 6, BLOCK 40 IN "T"UCKERS ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO TI-IE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS AS RECORDED IN VOLUME G3, PAGE A24 OF THE PLAT RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY TEXAS, CONTAINING APPROXIIVIATELY 2000 SQUARE FEET, OR 0.0459 ACRES OF LAND; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; THE RETAINMENT OF EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION I. That a 10 foot wide portion of an alley between Crawford Street and Calhoun Street and extended from Lueda Street North to Cannon street and adjacent to Lots 1 through 6, Black 40, Tuckers Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas as recorded in Volume f3, Page 124 of the Flat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, containing 2000 square feet, or 0.0459 acres of land more or less, and as more sgecihcally described in Exhibit "1", " 2" and "3" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be and the same is vacated and extinguished. SECTION ~. That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities located in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense. SECTION 3. That tine fee to the land in tlae above-described street is released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law. SECTI®N 4. RECOMMEN©ATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating an alley between Crawford Street and Calhoun Street Extended North from Leuda Street and Cannon Street containing approximately 2,000 square feet or 0.05 acres located adjacent to Lots 1-6, Block 40, Tuckers Addition, as recorded in Volume G3, Page 124, P.R.T.C.T. ©ISCUSSI®N: Mori's Engineering, Inc., has requested the above referenced vacation on behalf of, Oak Timbers-Fort Worth South LP of Fort Worth. The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division, states that the purchase fee of $100.00 has been waived per right-of-way dedication on the adjoining replat. Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting on August 24, 2005. The right-of-way being vacated is being retained as an easement for existing utilities. A suitable re-plat {FS-05-217) has been received. This vacation is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8.
