HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0117) M&C 21-0694City of Fort Worth, Mayor and DATE: 09/14/21 Texas Council Communication M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 21-0694 LOG NAME: 80SYCAMORE PARK PHASE I ENGINEERING AGREEMENT AMENDMENT NO.2 SUBJECT (CD 8) Authorize Execution of Amendment No. 2 to the Engineering Agreement with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc., to Provide Additional Engineering Design Services for Sycamore Park Phase I Improvements in an Amount Not to Exceed $48,100.00, for a Total Contract Value of $272,100.00 (2018 Bond Program) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of Amendment No. 2 to City Secretary Contract No. 53959, an engineering agreement with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc., to provide additional engineering design services for Sycamore Park Phase I Improvements in an amount not to exceed $48,100.00, for a revised contract value of $272,100.00 (City Project No. 102014). DISCUSSION: The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to authorize the execution of Amendment No. 2 with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (TNP) to provide additional engineering design services for the replacement of the north loop road at Sycamore Park (City Secretary Contract No. 53959), in an amount not to exceed $48,100.00, for revised contract value of $272,100.00. TNP has been under contract (M&C 20-0386 and City Secretary Contract No. 53959) since June 16, 2020, providing engineering design services for Phase I road and parking lot repaving. The amount in the original engineering contract is $144,000.00. To date, Amendment No. 1, in the amount of $80,000.00, was administratively approved for additional scope including pedestrian trail reconfiguration and playground replacement. Available resources within the General Fund will be used to provide interim financing until debt is issued. Once debt associated with the project is sold, bond proceeds will reimburse the General Fund in accordance with the statement expressing official Intent to Reimburse that was adopted as part of the ordinance canvassing the bond election (Ordinance No. 23209-05-2018) and subsequent actions taken by the Mayor and Council. Since the contract amount of Amendment No. 2 is less than $100,000.00, no MWBE participation is required. Sycamore Park is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the 2018 Bond Program Fund for the 2018GO Sycamore Park St Rehab project to support the approval of this recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to an expenditure being incurred, the Park & Recreation Department has the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
