AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CULTURE AND TOURISM FUND INTHE AMOUNT
OF $528,000.00, DECREASING THE ASSIGNED CULTURE AND TOURISM FUND
BALANCE BY THE SAME AMOUNT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MEETING ROOM
RENOVATION AT THE FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER; PROVIDING FOR
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Culture and Tourism Fund in the amount of $528,000.00, decreasing the assigned Culture and Tourism
Fund Balance by the same amount, for the purpose of meeting room renovation at the Fort Worth
Convention Center.
SECTION 2,
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or
void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion oriudgment shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 20411-09-2012 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions
of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
|tis recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the execution of C0nStrUCUOn CVDtr8[t with Scott DeDneft Construction, LC' in the amount
of $466,074.00 for the meeting room renovation at the Fort Worth Convention Center; and
2. Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations |n the Culture and
TOUh8m Fund in the amount of $528,000.00 and decreasing the assigned fund b8h]Dco by the Same

DISCUSSION:
The Fort Worth Convention Center has 41 rO88hng [ooDlS of various shapes and sizes. Of these, 21 are
part nf the original complex and iD need 0f renovation and updating. This project vViUinSt8UOeYVCei|ings'
lighting and controls, updated sound systems and include the reconfiguration Of several rooms into more
usable sizes and shapes. The meeting room hallways would be similarly renovated. The rooms and
hallways were last updated iD20O2 with new carpet and paint only. The improvements will make the
Span8S more 08rbeiah|e and US8b|e by the events that use the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The project was advertised On August 23.2O12 and August 3O.2O12inthe Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Nine Offerors submitted proposals on September 2O,2O12 and the four following Offerors submitted the
required Post-Proposal Pre-Award documents:

CERTIFICATION: FISCAL INFORMATION /
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation
and adoption of the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current
operating budget, as appropriated, of the Culture and Tourism Fund. Upon approval, the assigned balance
of the Culture and Tourism Fund will exceed the minimum reserve as outlined in the Financial
CENTERS: Management Policy Statements.
