• Voice of Business (City staff) and Voice of Customer (development community) met on Sept
29th for an all -day meeting to identify common issues and to generate recommendations for
improvement for the Occupancy Change of Use permit — the most challenging building permit.
The meeting was facilitated by a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt consultant. A second
meeting will be held on Oct 22nd to transform the recommendations into solutions for
implementation.
Response to COVID-19 Pandemic
• All required applications/permits continue to be available online. Staff continues to work on
streamlining and adding permit processes online.
o DSD is undertaking a project which involves data gathering/ verifying task required for the
IT Permit Extract for Public Use project. This project will be pulling data from Accela and
putting it out on the Open Data Portal and on One Address for the public's use. The goal
is to provide more information to the public to promote transparency and good customer
