With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City
Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 3:11 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 21, 2021, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas
Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
1. Report of the City Manager - David Cooke, City Manager
a. Changes to the City Council Agenda
City Manager Cooke advised that M&C 21-0711 (tax abatement) will be continued to
the November 9, 2021, Council meeting.
b. Upcoming and Recent Events
City Manager Cooke announced the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Diamond
Hill Community Center would be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at
1701 NE 26th Street.

Fire Chief Jim Davis announced that September is National Preparedness Month to
raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that
could happen at any time.
c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s)
Chief Judge Danny Rodgers introduced Michelle Sims as the new Teen Court
Coordinator. He also announced the retirement of Substitute Judge Edward Valverde
after 35 years with the City.
