HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0072) M&C 21-0762City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE: 09/28/21 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 21-0762 LOG NAME: 55AFW TAXIWAY PAPA CONNECTOR CONSTRUCTION SUBJECT (CD 7) Adopt Attached Appropriation Ordinance in the Amount of $685,959.50 for the Construction of the Taxiway Papa Connector at Fort Worth Alliance Airport RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Municipal Airport Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $685,959.50, from available funds, for the purpose of funding the construction of the Taxiway Papa connector at Fort Worth Alliance Airport (City Project No. 102845). DISCUSSION: On September 18, 2019 and September 9, 2020 Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) C-28935 & 20-0341, the City of Fort Worth (City) received grant funds from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), City Secretary Contract (CSC) 52803 & 54442, for the construction of the Taxiway Papa Extension project (Project) at Fort Worth Alliance Airport (Airport). On November 6, 2020 (M&C 20-0765), this Project was awarded to Mario Sinacola and Sons Excavating, Inc. (Mario Sinacola) (CSC 54827). ADL Development, L.P. (ADL) and its affiliates own, develop and lease property adjacent to the Airport to private tenants, and have contributed funding to construct a taxiway connector to the Project. This connector will allow access to tenants who are considered to be off -airport property (see attached map). This connection is ineligible for FAA grant funding, and ADL has paid the contribution (CSC 55918) and this M&C appropriates the funds into the project. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be deposited in the Municipal Airport Capital Proj Fund for the AFW Taxiway Papa Ext Phase I project. The Aviation Department (and Financial Management Services) is responsible for the collection and deposit of funds due to the City.
