HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0003) IR 21-10683 - Architectual Team Selection for Future City HallINFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 21-10683 PRTEot c e�cw?.e 1@70L To the Mayor and Members of the City Council October 12, 2021 Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: ARCHITECTURAL TEAM SELECTION FOR FUTURE CITY HALL The purpose of this Informal Report is to update the City Council on the selection of a consultant team to provide architectural design services for the future City Hall. On August 12th, 2021, the City issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an architect and engineering team to provide design and construction administration services for the construction required to remodel 100 Energy Way and build Council chambers for use as Fort Worth's City Hall. The Business Equity goal for this RFQ is 25%. Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) were due September 9th, 2021, and the City received 11 SOQs from qualified architectural firms. The selection committee included representatives from the City Manager's Office, the City Hall Steering Committee, Property Management Department, Development Services Department, Diversity and Inclusion Business Equity Office, and the Athenian Group. The firms submitting SOQs were: Bennett Partners, BOKA Powell, BR Architects & Engineers, Gensler, GFF, Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford, Huitt-Zollars, Page Southerland Page, Perkins & Will, Randall Scott Architects, and The Smith Group. After reviewing the SOQs, the committee selected 4 of the 11 firms for interviews based on their rankings in a qualifying matrix. The interviews took place September 24th, 2021 and the following is a summary of the results of the interview process. Design Team Score 1. BOKA Powell 88.5 2. Huitt-Zollars 84.0 3. Gensler 80.0 4. Page Southerland Page 70.0 The selection committee recommends that BOKA Powell, LLC, be selected for design and construction administration services for the future City Hall. City staff is currently negotiating scope and fee with BOKA Powell, LLC. After these are established and supporting and Business Equity documents are complete and approved, staff intends to place an M&C on the November 9 City Council agenda to approve the contract.
