Purchase Timeline
November 18 Letter of Intent
December 15 City Council authorization to purchase
and approval of funding
January 12 Lender approval of transaction
City deposits hard earnest funds
January 27 Closing

Operations
•Pier 1 building has 31 existing service contracts and City is
assuming most of them
•Appropriations for larger contracts to be considered by
City Council
M&C for security contract on tonight’s Council agenda
Janitorial contract and others to follow as needed

Convened to guide visioning, programming, and transition for
10 City-owned buildings:
•New City Hall at Pier 1 building
•Current City Hall
•Gordon Swift building -900 Monroe Street
•Lone Star Gas building -908 Monroe Street
•311 W 10th Street -Taylor Street garage
•1000 Throckmorton Street -Public Safety/Courts building
•275 W 13th Street -Zipper building
•401 W 13th Street
•Guinn Complex
•Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods

Request for Qualifications
•Project management and programming services for 10 buildings
•Visioning study and best practice review for delivery of services
at new City Hall to promote:
Civic engagement
Collaboration
Innovation and efficiency
Transparency
•Consultant will hire architect and construction manager at risk
(CMAR) for new City Hall remodeling
•Business Equity goal is 10% for this project management RFQ
