Authorize settlement and payment in the amount of $170,354.39, for full and complete disposition of the referenced claims of Joseph Humphrey; and 2. Authorize the appropriate City personnel to execute all documents necessary to complete the settlement. DISCUSSION: Mr. Joseph Humphrey filed a claim against the City of Fort Worth arising out of an automobile accident that occurred on August 16, 2020. It is alleged that a Fort Worth Police vehicle disregarded a red light and collided with Mr. Humphrey's vehicle. As a result, Mr. Humphrey was transported to JPS Emergency Room Trauma via Medstar from the scene, suffering from multiple serious injuries to multiple organ systems. He underwent immediate surgery and incurred substantial medical bills due to his injuries. The parties have reached an agreement to settle the claim in the amount of $170,354.39. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the recommendations, funds are available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, in the Risk Financing Fund.
