RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a contract with Texas Materials Group, Inc., dba Texas Bit, in the amount of
$923,571.65 for 2021 Como Area Resurfacing project (City Project No. 103348) on approximately five lane miles of pavement on five street
segments at multiple locations.
DISCUSSION:
In the Fiscal Year 2021 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance are grouped into specific contract
packages. The recommended construction contract outlined in this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) will provide street rehabilitation for
approximately five lane miles of pavement on five street segments listed below under the Contract Street Maintenance Program (City Project No.
103348).

Construction for this project is expected to start in winter 2021 and to be completed by summer 2022. Upon completion of the project there will be
no anticipated impact on the General Fund operating budget.
This project was advertised for bid on August 5, 2021 and August 12, 2021 in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On September 2, 2021, the following

FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital
Projects Fund for 2021 Como Area Resurfacing project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior
to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
