HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 54568-A1 CSC No.54568-A1 AMENDMENT No.1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 54568 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 54568, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized on the 18t day of September, 2020 in the amount of $ 265, 845. 00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 98 and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in proposal attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $ 74,357. 00. 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $340,202. 00. 3 . All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect. DESIGN MANAGEMENT(TASK 001) Includes additional efforts for project management that is necessary with additional scope items. II. FINAL CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS(TASK 004) Includes producing construction documents for additional scope items as described below and shown in Attachment C-Additional Pipe Exhibit. Includes the additional waterline and sanitary sewer line replacements: • Approximately 435 LF of WL extension on Ross Ave. • Approximately 1,220 LF of WL extension on Prairie Ave. • Approximately 280 LF of WL addition on NE 21st St. Includes the addition of erosion control plans for each segment within the contract. Erosion control plans will follow North Central Texas Council of Government iSWM Criteria. Includes the addition of traffic control plans (TCP) for the construction of the various proposed Sewer and Water line locations as outlined below to include: • Sequence of Work Narrative and Notes (1 sheet) • Traffic Control Plan Sheets (5 sheets) • Fort Worth Standard TCP Details and TxDOT BC Standard Details (15 sheets) III. SPECIAL SERVICES—SURVEY&SUE (TASK 008) Includes additional survey on Ross Avenue, Prairie Avenue, and the intersection of NE 21st and Grove for the design the WL and SS replacements in these areas as shown in Attachment C- Additional Pipe Exhibit. DISCUSSION: On September 1, 2020, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) 20-0637, the City Council authorized the execution of an engineering agreement with Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., in the amount of $265,845.00 for the preparation of plans and specifications for design of the Sanitary Sewer, Contract 98 (City Secretary Contract No. 54568). The additional appropriations in this M&C will provide for increased project management costs in the amount of$10,000.00 and funding costs associated with proposed Amendment No. 1 to the contract in the amount of$74,357.00 for a total contract of$340,202.00 to provide for the replacement of deteriorated cast iron water mains on Ross Avenue (NW 25th Street to 435 feet South), Prairie Avenue (NW 23rd Street to NW 22nd Street and NW 21St Street to NW 20th Street), NE 21St Street (N Grove Street to 200 feet South) and N Grove Street (NE 21st Street to 80 feet South).
