CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION MEETING

With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City
Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 2:32 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 14, 2021, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas
Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
Mayor Parker advised that agenda items 3, 4 and 5 would be moved up on the agenda to
be respectful of everyone's time.

3. Presentation on Hispanic Heritage Events and the Economic Impact on Local
Tourism - Estela Martinez,Visita Fort Worth and Anette Landeros, Fort Worth
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
City Manager Cooke called on Council Member Carlos Flores to introduce the
presentation on Hispanic Heritage and Economic Impact on Local Tourism.

Bivens assumed the Chair.)
1. Report of the City Manager-David Cooke, City Manager
a. Upcoming and Recent Events
City Manager Cooke announced the following:
African American Museum Public Forum, 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16th
at I.M. Terrell High School
Redistricting Task Force, 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17th at City Hall in
City Council Conference, Room 2020
African American Museum Panel Presentation, 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18th
at Como Community Center
Tuesday, November 23rd is not a scheduled Council date. The Next Council Meeting
will be November 30th at 10:00 a.m.
Thanksgiving Holiday Closing Schedule:
Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Thursday and Friday, November
25th and 26th. Emergency services will be available as usual.
There will be no garbage service on Thanksgiving Day. If your normal garbage pickup
day is on Thursday, your pickup will be shifted to Friday; Friday service slides to
Saturday.Normal pickup schedules resume the following Monday. If you have
questions or need further assistance, call 817-392-1234 or check the City's website at
www.fortworthtexas.gov.

City Manager Cooke called on Brandon Bennett, Code Compliance Department, who
informed the Council that Robert Smouse, Assistant Code Compliance Director,
would be leaving the City for another opportunity in the private sector on
November 19, 2021. He advised that Christopher McAllister would serve as Interim
Assistant Director.

Health Crisis Call- Commander Amy Ladd,Police Department
8. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports
Mayor Pro teen Bivens - Informal Report of all historical preservation waivers that have
been submitted from District 5 (Carver Heights).
Council Member Beck - Informal Report providing the Council with names of
organizations/groups in their district that assist the homeless population.
Council Member Nettles - Briefing on Information on Infrastructure Investment Jobs Act.
Council Member Williams - Informal Report on Winterization Days.
Council Member Crain - Presentation on transportation plan for west side of Fort Worth;
what are the plans for the north/south corridor (include participation from TXDOT, RTC,
NCTCOG).
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Parker adjourned the meeting at 5:34 p.m.
