AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE JUSTICE ASSET FORFEITURE FUND, IN THE
AMOUNT OF$18,250.00,FROM USE OF FUND BALANCE,FOR THE PURPOSE
OF FUNDING THE CITY'S MATCH REQUIREMENT FOR THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FY2023 COMMERCIAL MOTOR
VEHICLE GRANT; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING
THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES;REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 in the
Budget of the City Manager,there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Justice
Asset Forfeiture Fund in the amount of$18,250.00, from use of fund balance,for the purpose of funding the
City's match requirement for the Texas Department of Transportation FY2023 Commercial Motor Vehicle
Grant.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion,section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid,inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction,such decision,opinion or judgment shall in no way impair
the remaining portions,sections,or parts of sections of this ordinance,which said remaining provisions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance 25073-09-2021 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations,in which instance said conflicting provisions of
said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

and Adopt Attached Appropriation Ordinances to Increase Receipts and Appropriations in the Grants Operating Federal Fund by$73,000.00 so
as to Correct Certain Information Pertaining to One(1)Traffic Safety Grant from the Texas Department of Transportation,and Authorize Transfer of
$18,250.00 from the Justice Asset Forfeiture Fund for the City's Match Requirement
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Repeal appropriation ordinances#25298-01-2022 and#25297-01-2022 previously attached to Mayor and Council Communication 22-
0079 and approved on January 25,2022;
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Justice Asset Forfeiture Fund in the
amount of$18,250.00,from use of fund balance,for the purpose of transferring to the Grants Operating Federal Fund as the City's match
requirement;and
3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Grants Operating Federal Fund (1)by
$73,000.00 subject to award and receipt of grant funds,and(2)by$18,250.00,as a transfer from the Justice Asset Forfeiture Fund to satisfy
the City's match requirement,for a total of$91,250.00 for the purpose of funding the Texas Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2023
Commercial Motor Vehicle grant.
DISCUSSION:
On January 25,2022, City Council approved Mayor and Council Communication(M&C)22-0079 and appropriation ordinance#25298-01-2022
and#25297-01-2022 for application to and acceptance of a Fiscal Year 2023 Texas Department of Transportation Commercial Motor Vehicle
(CMV)grant.
The appropriation ordinances attached to M&C 22-0079 were a duplication of the ordinances approved with M&C 22-0078 and were therefore
incorrect.
City Council is being asked to repeal the incorrect ordinances and enact the attached ordinances for M&C 22-0079.
A Form 1295 is not required because: This contract will be with a governmental entity,state agency or public institution of higher education:Texas
Department of Transportation
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinances,funds
will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, in the Grants Operating Federal Fund and the Justice Asset Forfeiture Fund.The
Police Department(and Financial Management Services)will be responsible for the collection and deposit of funds due to the City. Prior to an
expenditure being incurred,the Police Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.This is a reimbursement grant.
