Re: Proposal for Supplemental Geotechnical Investigation
Bob Bolen, Police SWAT Vehicle Storage Building
Fort Worth, Texas
AGG Proposal: P22-0331 Er1
Mr. Meza,
Alliance Geotechnical Group (AGG) understands that we have been selected to provide
geotechnical engineering and testing services at the above noted project. We understand that
AGG has been selected based on qualifications in accordance with the Professional Services
Procurement Act for providing geotechnical services. A detailed scope and project fee are
provided below.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Alliance Geotechnical Group(AGG)recently performed a geotechnical investigation (AGG Report
No. DE21-238 dated March 23, 2022) for the above referenced project. Recommendations for
shallow foundation system was provided within the geotechnical report.
The design team is considering using a deep foundation system consisting of structural floor over
straight shaft piers to support the proposed building. Unweathered rock (bearing stratum) was
encountered at depths between 23 and 24 feet of the deeper structural test borings. In order to
provide straight shaft foundation, deeper test borings will be required in order to penetrate the
unweathered rock bearing stratum. We understand that the Structural Engineer anticipates
penetrations ranging from 10 to 15 feet into the bearing stratum. Therefore, the supplemental test
borings will need to be advanced until 25 feet of unweathered rock is penetrated.

SCOPE OF WORK
The geotechnical investigation performed for the referenced project will consist of field and
laboratory investigations, engineering analysis, and a report prepared by a Registered
Professional Engineer.
Fiend investigation
The field investigation will consist of drilling two (2) structural test borings within the vicinity of the
proposed new building. The test borings will be advanced to anticipated depths of 50 feet below
existing ground in order to penetrate 25 feet into the unweathered rock. Upon drilling completion,
AGG will backfill the borings with soil cuttings.
The subsurface soil samples will be blank drilled without sampling to depths of 25 feet below
existing grade. Rock encountered in the boring will be evaluated using the Texas Department of
Transportation Penetrometer (TxDOT Cone). All samples will be properly logged, packaged,
sealed, and placed in a core box for transportation to the laboratory.
Alliance Geotechnical Group assumes that the client has the right-of-entry to the property and
that the boring locations will be accessible to our conventional truck mounted drilling equipment.
Should unusual soil conditions be encountered, we will call you with a recommendation and cost
estimate to explore these unusual conditions.
Alliance Geotechnical Group will contact Texas811 and the City of Fort Worth's Water Department
to have underground utilities located prior to beginning field activities. However, these utility
locators will not mark underground utilities on private property for existing facilities. Therefore,
AGG will mark the proposed boring locations and will notify the maintenance personnel (contact
provided by the client) in order for the utilities to be marked and cleared by them. Alliance
Geotechnical Group cannot be responsible for damage to underground utility lines that are not
identified prior to drilling.
Alliance Geotechnical Group assumes that the client has the right-of-entry to the property and
that the boring locations will be accessible to our conventional truck mounted drilling equipment
during normal working hours. Should unusual soil conditions be encountered, we will call you with
a recommendation and cost estimate to explore these unusual conditions.
LaboLaborato Investigation
No additional laboratory testing is anticipated

Engineering Analyses
Results of the supplemental investigation will be presented in a supplemental report that is signed
and sealed by Registered Professional Engineer of Texas. The report will include straight shaft
pier recommendations to support the proposed structure.
GEOTECHNICAL FEES
Based on the scope of work described above, AGG will perform the geotechnical investigation for
a lump sum fee of$3,345.00. If tan weathered limestone is encountered within the gray limestone
at depths below 25 feet, the borings will be extended to deeper depths in order to penetrate 25
feet into continuous gray unweathered limestone. Any extra drilling footage will be charged at
$25/ft.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If this proposal meets with your approval, please sign below to authorize Alliance Geotechnical
Group to perform the work. We look forward to working with you on this project. Please contact
us after reviewing our proposal if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
ALLIANCE GEOTECHNICAL GROUP
