This office has reviewed your correspondence dated Febmary 15, 2013 regarding the, prolposeld
contract moth fication (,PCM-0018) to, modify the gas detection system in Bar Screen Building No.
J'he Water Department agrees with your recommendation that the contractor's cost of
$41,355.81 should be accepted, as the cost is fair and reasonable. The Contractor has requested
42 days additional calendar days to complete this work. -rhis o ffice will recommend to the City

modify the gas detector system at Bar Screen Building 3. ARK has requested 42 calendar days be
added to the Contract Time for delivery and installation of the new equipment.
CDM Smith and has reviewed this price; proposal and is of the opinion that it is a fair and
equitable price., CDM Smith recornmends the City accept this PCM and issue a Change Order
in the amount Of S41,355.8i with 42,additional calendar days to the Contract Time'. Please advise
if the Water Department desires,this PPM be incorporated in a Change Order.

A. Instruments for hazardous locations shall have Factory Mutual (F'M),, Canadian
Standards Association (CSA), and CENELEC approvals,and certifications as specified
herein and as indicated on the Drawings or in the Instrument Device Schedule. J"he
instrument specifications in Part 2 state the Class, Division, and as groups for
FM/'CS A approval, Followed in parenthesis by the CENELEC certification; however.
instruments provided are only required to have the approval/certification stated above.

certification.

1.11 MANUFACTURER START-UP'AND TRAINING SERVICES
A. If indicated in the instrumentation paragraphs below, the instrument manufacturer or
manufacturer's certified service representative,shall provide start-Up and training
services.This work shall not be done by the PCSS or AESS, contractor.
B. The start-up services shall] be to calibrate, oversee the installations of the sensor, and
start-up the sensor/transmitter in order to provide reliable measurement at the
instrument and to the control system. The vendor shall work with the F"U"SS and .HESS
to verify the transi�ni,tter sends correct information to the rernote system (i.e., that the
scaling and units are the sanne at the instrument and on the remote operator interface).
Vendor to submit an instrument calibration report in order to document the calibration
procedure of the instruments.
C. While starting up the analyzers, the manufacturer shall provide training to the Owner's
instrumentation technicians., The training shall be in how to calibrate, install,
troubleshoot, read the diagnostics, and maintain the analyzer and transi-nitter.
D. In addition,to the above services. provide a written proposal for a mainteriance contract
executed by the manufacturer for on-site preventive maintenance services related to the
Instrumentation that requires manufacturer services, below. The cost of this maintenance
contract shall not be included in the Contract Price.

02 HYDROGEN SULFIDE DETECTOR
A. Sensor:

C. In lieu of the above, if the vendor offers a "Sensor Exchange" program as a
standard offering, a year of this Sensor Exchange program is acceptable. This
program shall deliver a freshly calibrated sensor at manufacturer
recur mended calibration intervals for replacernent of the existing sensor. All
information s,liall be uploaded to the transmitter for the new sensor with no
fUrther maintenance required for the new sensor to function Properly.

Two independent channels allow s,imultaneous measurement of

The highly visible LCD display shows calibrated engineering
values,bar-graph data,30-minute trend,and setup information.
Front panel flashing LEDs continuously indicate alarm
conditions.Real-time clock time-stamps,alarms and calibration
events.
Standard output is 4-20mA;options include form C relays,
isolated 4-2OmA and MODBUS.
Magnetic interface!eliminates potentiometer's and enables all
adjustments to be made without opening the case.

Standard terms for domestic US:customers are net 30 days with approved credit unless,otherwise specified.GDS,Corp.reserves

Warranty
GDS Corp.hardware products carry a 2-year limited repair or:replacement wamnty on electronics and workmanship.For
ambient detection applications,e I ec,tr,o chemical sensors and photoionization detector(PID)sensors carry a one year warranty;
SmartIR inftared,sensors carry a two year warranty and GDS-fl sensors carry a 5 year warranty.All electrochemical,PID and
SmartIR sensors used with GDS-58XP sample draw systems carry a one year warranty. Sensors used in 1 S,-68XP and GDSI-
781XP Process Monitors and custom PS M applications,are not covered under warranty unless specified in product manual. GDS
Corp.reserves the right to void warranty claims based on evidence of,misuse,abuse,or the misapplication of a specific sensor in
an environment known to adversely affect sensor life.Warranty period starts on date of shipment from GDS Corp.
Delivery
Shipping and handling charges will be added to each order.GDS Corp.shall not be held liable for damages or penalties for delay
in delivery or failure to give notice of such delay in the event the delay is caused by the elements,acts,of God,acts of purchaser,
fire or floods.labor stoppages,accidents,riots,acts ofterrorism,or other delays,beyond the reasonable control of GDS Corp. In
the evcrit of such occurrence,purchaser may at their option cancel or reschedule the order or that portion of the order so affected.
Title to all goods provided under these terms remains with GDS Corp.until goods supplied are paid for.Purchaser is responsible

If the item is intended for export or re-export,it is the Buyers responsibility to comply with all applicable intemational and

Errors

Cancellation or Returns
