Bivens, District 5 Council Member Cary Moon, District 4 Staff Present: David Cooke, City Manager Laetitia Brown, Interim City Attorney Jannette Goodall, City Secretary CALL TO ORDER With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City Council Public Comment Meeting of the Fort Worth City Council to order at 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth,Texas. INVOCATION-Pastor Ben Weiss, Grace Community Church The invocation was provided by Pastor Ben Weiss, Grace Community Church. PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF TEXAS- (State of Texas Pledge: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas,one state under God, one and indivisible.") The Pledges of Allegiances to the United States of America and the State of Texas were recited. Gov't Code§ 551.042) 22-1969 Public Comments Mr. Malikk Austin, 6008 Meredith Lane, appeared before Council via conference call relative to violence in the City of Fort Worth. Ms. Natasha Nelson, 5200 White Settlement Road #1269, appeared before Council via conference call relative to awareness to Ms. Atatiana Jefferson's case. Mr. Bob Willoughby, 617 Fay Boulevard, appeared before Council relative to the City Council. Mr. George Chiles, 74, 2901 Travis Avenue, appeared before Council relative to to the Police Officers' Association. Mr. Gerald Banks, Sr., 6861 Routt Street, appeared before Council relative to profiling, police brutality, wrongful arrest/killing, wrong prosecution, ending qualified immunity, etc. 0ty of Fori Worth Page 2 Panted on 5/4/2022 CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS PUBLIC COMMENT MEETING TUESDAY,MAY 3,2022 Page 3 of 3 Mr. Adrian Smith, 3625 San Rose Drive, appeared before Council relative to the Fort Worth Safe Initiative and community patrolling. Mr. Thomas Torlincasi, 1515 6th Avenue, appeared before Council relative to alleged criminal offenses by Fort Worth police officer Benjamin Johnson and Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. Ms. LaSondra Huggins, 8504 Ohara Lane, completed a speaker card relative to housing, JPS connection, Blue Zone city goal, and voting, and was recognized by Mayor Parker but was not present in the Council Chamber. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Mayor Parker adjourned the meeting at 6:26 p.m. These minutes approved by the Fort Worth City Council on the 17th day of May, 2022.
