HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 5572-05-2022 A Resolution NO. 5572-05-2022 AMENDING RESOLUTION 5103-06-2019 TO EXPAND THE POLICY REGARDING EXPENDITURE OF TREE FUND COLLECTIONS WHEREAS,the Zoning Ordinance Section 6.302 Urban Forestry has the following objectives: to eliminate the process of clear cutting; to promote the preservation/conservation of trees throughout the City; to recognize the benefits of trees in the urban environment; to encourage the planting and preservation of quality trees that are suitable to an area; to promote a safe environment that includes trees; and to encourage the preservation of canopy trees which, once removed, can only be replaced after generations; and WHEREAS,the City Council on June 18,2019, adopted Resolution No. 5103-06-2019, adopting the policy regarding the expenditure of tree fund collections; and WHEREAS, advancements in technology and the emergence of professional consulting organizations has yielded data and data-based modeling not readily available to the City for urban forest composition, condition, analysis and planning; and WHEREAS,to facilitate the judicious allocation of the tree fund by allowing use of funds for urban forest inventory and long-term planning,the aforementioned resolution must be amended. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT: 1. The City Council hereby amends Resolution 5103-06-2019 as necessary to provide for the following additional provision: 4. Urban Forestry fees deposited into the Tree Fund may be spent on tree survey tools, professional studies and master plans including work by consulting partners, organizations and corporations. This work serves to identify areas of importance in terms of preserving existing urban forest and prioritizing planting spaces. Adopted this 241h day of May 2022 ATTEST: By: OF FQ 1a.� -S.
