HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0137) RESOLUTION - Raise for the City ManagerA Resolution NO. APPROVING A RAISE FOR THE CITY MANAGER AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Fort Worth reserves to the City Council the authority to appoint and prescribe compensation for the positions of City Manager, City Attorney, City Secretary and City Auditor; and WHEREAS, the positions of City Manager, City Attorney, City Secretary and City Auditor last received a pay raise in 2019; and WHEREAS, since the City Attorney and the City Auditor are retiring at the end of 2021 and a new City Secretary began employment on November 29, 2021 no raises will be provided for these three positions for 2022; and WHEREAS, Ronald P. Gonzales has served as interim City Secretary since the retirement of Mary Kayser in June of 2021 and will be entitled to a Pay for Performance increase as a general employee; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2022, the City Council wishes to implement a corresponding pay raise for the City Manager for which the Council prescribes compensation under the City Charter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: 1. That the City Council directs the City Manager to implement all changes and take all necessary actions to provide an on -going four percent (4%) increase for the following positions: City Manager. 2. That the effective date for such increase will be effective on November 20, 2021, the same date as the pay for performance for general employees . 3. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. Adopted this 14th day of December, 2021. ATTEST: M. Jannette Goodall, City Secretary
