Bivens, District 5 Staff Present: David Cooke, City Manager Laetitia Brown, Interim City Attorney Jannette Goodall, City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in the City Council Conference Room 2020 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. 1. Report of the City Manager - David Cooke, City Manager a. Upcoming and Recent Events Thursday, January 6 at 3 p.m., City Council Conference Redistricting Task force will meet to evaluate proposed maps further review by outside council. Monday, January 17th, Most city offices, including City Hall will be closed in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, Emergency services will be available as usual. City Manager Cooke called on Cannon Henry, Chair of the MLK, Jr./Juneteenth Employee to share the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration activities. b. Update on Economic Development Strategic Plan — Jay Chapa, City Manager's Office, Robert Sturns, Economic Development and Jon Roberts, TIP Strategies Council Members Beck, Crain and Firestone - Provide an update on how the City compares with peer cities on Economic Development projects (both in and out of Texas), funding for economic development projects including funding sources and how other cities apply the funds. 6. Presentation on Municipal Court Programs and Outreach Strategies - William Rumuly and Chief Judge Danny Rodgers, Municipal Court 7. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Council Members Beck and Crain - Provide an update on the City's efforts in addressing the issue of paper license plates and schedule a briefing from the Regional Transportation Council on their initiatives including paper license plates. Council Member Williams - Provide a status update on COVID-19. Council Member Williams - Provide an update on efforts by the City to reduce gun violence. Council Member Flores - When appropriate provide an update on enforcement of game rooms.
