NO.
DESIGNATING THE LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO SERVE
AS THE AD HOC MUNICIPAL COURTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
IN MATTERS REGARDING MUNICIPAL COURT
WHEREAS, Section 10-2 of the City Code establishes an ad hoc municipal court
advisory committee to act as the liaison between the municipal court judges and the City Council
and to make recommendations to the City Council in all matters regarding municipal court and
provides that members of the committee shall be members of City Council appointed in
accordance with the City Council Rules of Procedure ("CCRP"); and
WHEREAS, under the CCRP, the Mayor establishes the number, duties, membership,
and chairs of all standing committees and appoints, subject to Council approval, members to ad
hoc committees; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the CCRP the Mayor has established the City Council
Legislative Affairs Committee, consisting of members of City Council, with the committee
serving as a liaison between Council and the City's legislative staff and consultants; and
WHEREAS, the nature and scope of the Legislative Affairs Committee's duties are
consistent with and encompass the types of functions prescribed for the ad hoc municipal court
advisory committee under the City Code; and
WHEREAS, adding the duties of the ad hoc municipal court advisory committee to those
of the Legislative Affairs Committee, whose members are eligible to serve as members of the ad

committee subject to separate scheduling and staffing requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council Legislative Advisory Committee is hereby designated to serve as the ad
hoc municipal court advisory committee and perform all functions thereof as set forth in the City
