RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a contract with Texas Materials Group, Inc., dba Texas Bit in the amount of
$2,067,672.76 for the 2021 Street Rehabilitation Project (City Project No. 103609) on approximately six lane miles for nine street segments at
multiple locations.
DISCUSSION:
The Fiscal Year 2022 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program groups various types of street maintenance into specific contract packages.
The recommended construction contract outlined in this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) provides for street rehabilitation for
approximately six lane miles on nine street segments listed in the table below:

Construction for this project is expected to start in fall 2022 and to be completed by spring 2023. Upon completion of the project there will be no
anticipated impact on the General Fund operating budget.
This project was advertised for bid on November 11, 2021 and November 18, 2021 in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On December 9, 2021, the

Funding is budgeted in the TPW Highway & Streets Department's General Capital Projects Fund for the purpose of funding the 2021
Street Rehabilitation project, as appropriated.
M/WBE OFFICE —Texas Materials Group, Inc. is in compliance with the City's Business Equity Ordinance by committing to 26% Business Equity
participation on this project. The City's Business Equity goal on this project is 26%.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 5 and 6.
A Form 1295 is not required because: This contract will be with a publicly -traded business entity or a wholly -owned subsidiary of a publicly -traded
business entity: CRH
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital
Projects Fund for the 2021 Street Rehabilitation project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior
to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
