HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0071) M&C 22-0150City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 03/08/22 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 22-0150 LOG NAME: 202022 BRIDGE REHABILITATION CONTRACT 2 SUBJECT (CD 2, CD 4, CD 5, CD 7, CD 8 and CD 9) Authorize Execution of a Contract with Gibson and Associates Inc., in the Amount of $679,646.60 for the Rehabilitation of Various Bridge Sections RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a contract with Gibson and Associates Inc., in the amount of $679,646.60 for rehabilitation of various bridge sections for the 2022 Bridge Rehabilitation Contract 2. DISCUSSION: The Fiscal Year 2022 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program groups various types of bridge maintenance projects into specific contract packages. The 2022 Bridge Rehabilitation Contract 2 provides bridge rehabilitation for 20 bridge sections under the Contract Street Maintenance Program (City Project No. 103456). Construction for this project is expected to start in early 2022 and to be completed by summer 2022. There is no anticipated impact on the General Fund operating budget upon completion of this contract. This project was advertised for bid on December 16, 2021 and December 23, 2021, in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On January 13, 2022, the following bids were received: Bidders Amount Gibson & Associates Inc. $679,646.60 Talbran Enterprises $722,014.00 IBCTX $768,617.00 Ragle Inc. $772,378.5011 M/WBE OFFICE — Gibson & Associates Inc. is in compliance with the City's Business Equity Ordinance by committing to 24% Business Equity participation on this project. The City's Business Equity goal on this project is 23%. Funding is budgeted in the TPW Dept Highway & Streets Department's General Capital Projects Fund for the purpose of funding the 2022 Bridge Rehabilitation project, as appropriated. These projects are located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital Projects Fund for 2022 Bridge Rehab Contract 2 project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds. Submitted for City Manager's Office by.
