HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0011) M&C 22-0219City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 03/29/22 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 22-0219 LOG NAME: 20HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FUNDING SUBJECT (CD 5 and CD 6) Adopt Attached Appropriation Ordinances in the Cumulative Amount of $350,000.00 for Three Highway Safety Improvement Projects for Design Engineering, Environmental Studies and Project Management, and Amend the Fiscal Year 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council: 1. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the 2007 CritCapProj-CO2013A Fund in the amount of $125,000.00 from available funds for the purpose of funding the West Risinger Road at Garden Springs Drive Project (City Project Number 103636); 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the 2007 CritCapProj-CO2013A Fund in the amount of $110,000.00 from available funds for the purpose of funding the Mitchell Boulevard at South Beach Street Project (City Project Number 103633); 3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the 2007 CritCapProj-CO2013A Fund in the amount of $115,000.00 from available funds for the purpose of funding the Ramey Avenue at Stalcup Road Project (City Project Number 103635) ; and 4. Amend the Fiscal Year 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program. DISCUSSION: The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved funding for construction of six Highway Safety Improvement Projects in November 2021.These projects include design and construction of traffic signals, turn lane and pedestrian facility improvements at six intersections within the City of Fort Worth. The City will fund design engineering, right of way, utility relocations, environmental studies and project management for these projects. The funding for preliminary design of the other three intersections has already been appropriated. The collective $350,000.00 appropriated in this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) will fund the remaining three projects through preliminary design. Additional funds will be allocated for final design and construction subject to approval of the upcoming 2022 bond program. The funding for these projects was not included in the Fiscal Year 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program because these projects were not identified for funding by TxDot at the time the Capital Improvement Program plan was developed. The action in this M&C will amend the Fiscal Year 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program as approved in connection with Ordinance 25073-09-2021. These projects are located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 5 and 6. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are currently available in the Unspecified -All Funds project within the 2007 CritCapProj-CO2013A Fund and upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinances, funds will be available in the W Risinger Rd at Garden Spring, Mitchell Blvd at S Beach St and Ramey Ave at Stalcup Rd projects.
