Increasing the Maximum Amount to be Paid to
Bickerstaff, Heath, Delgado, Acosta LLP as Outside Legal Counsel,
to an Amount not to Exceed $125,000.00, for Assistance to the
City Attorney's Office in Connection with Redistricting
WHEREAS on March 9, 2021, by M&C 21-0171, City Council adopted a
Resolution authorizing the employment of Bickerstaff, Heath, Delgado, Acosta
LLP ("Bickerstaff') as outside legal counsel with redistricting expertise to assist
the City Attorney's Office in assuring that the City's redistricting efforts comply
with all federal law, for a maximum amount of $35,000.00;
WHEREAS on December 14, 2021 by Resolution 5513-12-2021, City
Council increased the maximum amount to be paid to Bickerstaff for a maximum
amount of $85,000; and
WHEREAS City Council's review and production of additional
redistricting maps necessitated additional legal input and review.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
I.
That the compensation to be paid to Bickerstaff for their services is hereby
fixed in an amount not to exceed $125,000.00.
