CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker opened the
Special Called Meeting of the Fort Worth City Council—Election Canvass to order
5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort
Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
CERTIFICATION OF OFFICIAL RETURNS BY THE CITY SECRETARY
City Secretary Goodall advised the Council that before them were the certification
and tabulations of the official election returns from Tarrant, Denton, and Parker
Counties for the Special Election held on May 7, 2022, on the question of issuance
of ad valorem tax supported public securities for the 2022 General Obligation Debt

• Proposition A: The issuance of $369,218,300.00 of public securities for
streets and mobility infrastructure improvements and the imposition of taxes
sufficient to pay the principal interest on the public securities:

base-rate salary for all City assistant department heads starting October 1,

Motion: Council Member Crain made a motion, seconded by Council Member
Nettles, that Ordinance No. 25515-05-2022 be adopted. Motion passed
8-0, Council Member Moon absent.
RESOLUTIONS
1. 22-2188 A Resolution Canvassing the Returns and Declaring the Results of the
Special Election Held on May 7, 2022, for the Purpose of Submitting to the Voters
of Said City, for Adoption or Rejection, Thirteen (13) Proposed Amendments to
the Existing Charter of the City of Fort Worth
Motion: Mayor Pro tem Bivens made a motion, seconded by Council Member
Crain, that Resolution No. 5569-05-2022 be adopted. Motion passed
8-0, Council Member Moon absent.

Motion: Council Member Nettles made a motion, seconded by Mayor Pro tem
Bivens, that Resolution No. 5570-05-2022 be adopted. Motion passed
8-0, Council Member Moon absent.
PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION TO COUNCIL
MEMBER ELECT ALAN BLAYLOCK
Mayor Parker presented the Certificate of Election to Council Member Elect Alan
Blaylock.

Ms. Taryn Blaylock administered the Oath of Office to Council Member Elect
Alan Blaylock.
REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY COUNCIL MEMBER
BLAYLOCK
Mayor Parker congratulated Council Member Blaylock on his election to District 4
and expressed appreciation to former Council Member Moon for all of his years of
service to the citizens in his district and within the City of Fort Worth.
Council Member Blaylock expressed appreciation to his wife and family, friends,
police officers and firefighters, and neighbors for their support. He extended that
appreciation to his opponents for running their own fair campaigns.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Parker closed the Special Called Meeting
of the Fort Worth City Council—Election Canvass at 5:59 p.m.
