City Attorney 1.Call to Order-Joel Burns, Chair With a quorum of the committee members present, Chairman Joel Burns called the meeting of the Fort Worth Housing and Economic Development Committee to order at 1:01 p.m., on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in the Pre-Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Thxockmorton Street, Fort Worth,Texas 76102. 2. Approval of Minutes from the Meeting Held on April 2,2013—Joel Burns, Chair Motion was made by Committee Member Shingleton and second by Committee Member Scarth to approve the minutes of the April 2, 2013, Fort Worth Housing and Economic Development Committee meeting. Motion passed 7-0. (Committee members Price and Moss absent.) Chairman Joel Burns adjourned the regular meeting of the Fort Worth Housing and Economic Development Committee into Executive Session at 1:01 p.rn. Hill, Chair, Fort Worth Advisory Commission ou Ending Homelessness reviewed the purpose of the Cnrmrnimoiou no Ending Boroeleaoocma and the progress that has been made in the last nine(9) years. He introduced Otis Thornton, Bwnue\caononm Program Director to provide an overview of the Directions Home program and to provide an overview of the Community Engagement Campaign. Mr. Thornton noted that homelessness ie down but not eliminated. Continued focus mu chronic homelessness saves money arid tax dollars.
