AN ORDINANCE PRCNIDING THAT GORDON AVENUE BETWEEN
COVERT STREET AND SOUT11CREST DRIVE, THE NORTH-SOUTH
ALLEYS 114 BLOCKS 40 A1,TD 41, SEMINARY I-T.ILL ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF FCPT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS,
BETWEEN COVERT STREET AL,,TD SOUTHCREST DRIVE, AND THE
AREA DESIGNATED "STREET RESERVE, " WHIC11 IS THE SOUTH
40 FEET OF BLOCKS 40 AND 41, SEMINARY HILL ADDTTTOY,
AS RECORDED IN VOL. 310, PAGE 45, OF THE DEED RECORDS
OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND
CLOSED; REPEALING, ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Gordon A,veni:io betwcon Covort Street and Sauthcrest
Drive and the area designaIL-ed "street. reserve, " which is the
south 40 feet of Blocks 40 and 41, Seriijinary 1.1ill Addition
to the City of Fort Worth, Tar:i-ant County, Texas, as recorded
in Vol. 310, page 45, of Une, Deed Rocords of Tarrant Coi,.InE_y,
Texas, be and the same are [iIcreby cli(:)sed, abandoned and perma-
nently vacated as st.reeL:s or pub*lic thoroughfares of any kind
or character whatever.
That the north-soi:NLh al.Icys Jr Blocks 40 and 41, Semi-
nary Hill Addition, beCween Covert Street and SouLhcrest Drive,
Yu e and the same are he�ceby vacated, close l and, permanently

The Park and Recreation Department has requested the City to vacate the following:
1) Gordon Avenue between Covert Street and Southcrest Drive;
2) The north-south alleys in Blocks 40 and 41., Seminary Hill Addition between
Covert Street and Southcrest Drive: and,
3) The area designated street reserve which is the south 40 feet of Blocks 40
and 41, Seminary Hill Addition as recorded in Vol. 310, Page 45, Deed
Records, Tarrant County, Texas.
Subject rights-of-way were acquired by dedication and are not open, paved or
guttered. This request is made to permit the vacated rights-of-way to be
incorporated into adjoining land recently purchased by the Park and Recreation
Department for development of a neighborhood playground in Neighborhood 119.
City Departments and Private Utility Companies have reviewed this request. They
have no objection to the vac.ations,
The City Plan Commission has reviewed the proposed vacations and recommends
adoption of an ordinance vacating the subject rights-of-way.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the rights-
of-way as requested by the Park and Recreation Department.
