HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 5600-08-2022 A Resolution NO. 5600-08-2022 DESIGNATING LORAINE COLEMAN AS THE PRIMARY OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE AND CAYCE LAY LAMAS AS THE SECONDARY OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE TO CALCULATE THE NO-NEW-REVENUE TAX RATE AND THE VOTER-APPROVAL TAX RATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TEXAS TAX CODE WHEREAS, the Texas Tax Code requires an officer or employee be designated by the governing body to calculate the no-new-revenue tax rate and the voter-approval tax rate for the taxing unit after the assessor submits the appraisal roll; WHEREAS,the City desires to designate a primary and secondary officer or employee to calculate the no-new-revenue tax rate and the voter-approval tax rate in case the primary officer or employee is unavailable; and WHEREAS, Loraine Coleman, Budget Manager, Planning and Data Analytics Department was designated by City Council in 2020 to act in this capacity, has been continually serving in this capacity since her designation, and is a property tax professional who is actively involved in the assessment of ad valorem taxes and is registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT: 1. Loraine Coleman is hereby designated as the primary officer or employee to calculate the no-new-revenue tax rate and the voter-approval tax rate for the City of Fort Worth in accordance with the Texas Tax Code. 2. Cayce Lay Lamas, Assistant Director, Planning and Data Analytics Department is hereby designated as the secondary officer or employee to calculate the no-new-revenue tax rate and the voter-approval tax rate in case the primary officer or employee is unavailable for the City of Fort Worth in accordance with the Texas Tax Code.
