A. Call to Order
After proper notice given pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act, with a quorum of the City
Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the Executive Session Meeting to order and the
Fort Worth City Council convened into closed Executive Session at 12:11 p.m. on Tuesday,
August 16, 2022, in the City Council Conference Room 2020 of the Fort Worth City Hall to
discuss matters pertaining to the following:
B. The City Council will conduct a closed meeting in order to discuss matters permitted by
the following sections of Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code:

1. Section 551.071, CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY
To seek the advice of its attorney about pending or contemplated litigation, settlement offers, or
any matter in which the duty of the attorney to the City Council under the Texas Disciplinary
Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the Texas Open
Meetings Act.
a. Legal issues concerning the Aaron Dean criminal trial;
b. Legal issues concerning the Denton County Appraisal District budget;
c. Legal issues concerning the filing of a lawsuit against the Texas Attorney General in
response to Texas Attorney General Open Records Ruling OR2022-22331;
d. Legal issues concerning the extended leave policy for line of duty injury or illness leave
under Texas Local Government Code § 143.073 for civil service employees; and
e. Legal issues concerning open meetings
CITY MANAGER
1. Section 551.072,DELIBERATIONS REGARDING REAL PROPERTY
Deliberate the purchase, sale, lease or value of real property where deliberation in an open
meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third
party.
2. Section 551.087, DELIBERATIONS REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
NEGOTIATIONS
Deliberate the commercial or financial information or the offer of a financial or other incentive
to a business prospect.
C. The City Council may reconvene in open session in the City Council Conference Room
and act on any item listed on the Executive Session Agenda in accordance with Chapter
551 of the Texas Government Code.
D. Adjourn
With no further business to be conducted, Mayor Pro tem Bivens adjourned the meeting at 1:15
p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
