As required by the Federal Railroad Administration under 49 CFR 222.43, the following information is provided to the Associate Administrator and recipients as provided by statute. The City provides the following required information. Date of Quiet Zone Establishment—222.43(d)(1)(i) Routine use of the locomotive horn at the crossing listed below shall cease effective November 23, 2022. Grade Crossing Within the Quiet Zone—222.43(d)(2)(i) The public grade crossing to be included within the proposed quiet zone is: Crossing ID Street Name Location on Street 020468L Cunningham Street 2400 Block 020467E Risinger Road 2300 Block Regulatory Basis for Quiet Zone Establishment—222.43(d)(2)(ii) This quiet zone is being established under 49 CFR 222.39(a)(1)and Appendix A to Part 222.The City plans to implement the quiet zone at this crossing with the improvements described below: A RECORD RETARY TH„TX FORT WORTH Cunningham Street(SSM Concrete Medians) Cunningham Street is an existing two-lane roadway crossing over one BNSF mainline track. The crossing is equipped with flashing lights,gates,constant warning circuitry,and power-out indicator.The city installed non-mountable concrete medians at a minimum of 100 feet in length on both approaches, measured from the gate and over 6 inches high. This improvement will qualify as a Supplementary Safety Measure. The city installed signs and pavement markings per the TXMUTCD. Risinger Road (SSM Concrete Medians) Risinger Road is an existing four-lane two-way divided roadway crossing over one BNSF mainline track. The crossing is equipped with flashing lights, gates, constant warning circuitry, and power-out indicator. The city installed non-mountable concrete medians over 100 feet in length on both approaches, measured from the gate and over 6 inches high. The City and the FRA conducted a field meeting on July 25, 2022 to measure and confirm that driveways are not located within 60 feet of gates.These improvements will qualify as a Supplementary Safety Measure.The city installed signs and pavement markings per TXMUTCD. Diagnostic Team Review—222.43(d)(2)(iii) An on-site diagnostic team review was conducted on August 24, 2017, and included representatives from BNSF, FRA, and the City of Fort Worth (Attachment C). Time Period for Horn Restriction—222.43(d)(2)(iv) The restriction for routine sounding of locomotive horns shall be 24 hours a day, Existing Grade Crossing Inventory Forms—222.43(d)(2)(v) Accurate and complete Grade Crossing Inventory Forms for each crossing within the quiet zone that reflects the conditions existing at the crossing before any new SSMs were implemented (Attachment D).
