AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ABANDOMMNT, CLOSING
AND VACATING OF A PORTION OF AN ALLE "°SAY BETWEEN HOUSTON AND
THROCKMORTON STREETS AND THIRD AND FOURTH STREETS, A 'PART OF
BLOCK 50 IN THE CITY' OF FORT NORTH, TEXAS, SAID PASSAGE WAY
BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS BEGINNING AT A POINT IN
THE NORTH LINE OF FOURTH STREET 05 FEET WEST OF THE INTER8=
TION OF, THE NOR" H LINE Off` FOURTH SST WITH THE "NES"T iN"E T"
HOUSTON S kkR - "THENCE IN A NORTHERLY DIRECTION AND PARALLEL
WITH THE WEST LINE OF HOUSTON STREET 75 3/4 FEET; THENCE IN
A WEST RLY DIRE TICN AND PARALLEL WITH THE NORTH LINE OF
FOURTH STREET 10 FEET; THENCE IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION AND
PARALLEL WITH THE EAST LINE OF THROMORTON STREET TO A
POINT IN THE NORTH LINE OF FOURTH STREET WHICH IS 95 PUT EAST
OF THE EAST LIRE OF THROCKHORTON STREET, THENCE'IN AN EASTERLY
DIRECTION ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF FOURTH STREET 10 FEET TO
THE PLACE OF BEGINNING; AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL
ORDINANCES OR PORTION$ OF ORDINANCE$ IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
I.
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City
of Fort Worth, Texas, that no alley or public thoroughfare has
ever been dedicated to the public extending from the South to
the North through the Block between Houston Street and Throek
morton Street and Third. Street and Fourth Street in said City
and that there is a five-story permanent building constructed
of brick, stone and steel extending over, upon and through
that portion of Block 547 In the City of Fort 'Worth above re-
ferred to and particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point In the North line of Fourth Street
95 feet Hest of the intersection of the North line of Fourth
Street with the 'Nest line of Houston Street;
Thence in a northerly direction and parallel with the
West> line of Houston Street 75 3/4 feet;
Thence in a westerly 'direction and parallel with the
North line of Fourth, Street 10 feet;
Thence in °a southerly direction and parallel .with, the
East line of T xockmarton Street to s; point in the North 'line
of Fourth Strut which Is 95 feet East of the ,East line of
T.'arockmoron Street;

of Fourth Street IO feet to the place of beginning,
and that said building and improvements have been looatwd
thereon for many years and said above described property has
been closed to the public for more than twenty years and can-
not be used for a public 'thoroughfare; and
WHEREAS, said above described property has never been
used as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind; and
III.
WHEREAS, It further appearing to the City Council
that it will be to the best interest of the public and the
public necessity requires that the above described tract of
land be closed, vacated and permanently abandoned as any kind
or character of a passageway or thoroughfare; and
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH:
SECTION I.
That that certain property in Block 50 In the City of
Fort Worth, a portion of an alleyway between Houston and Throck-
morton Streets and Third and Fourth Streets,, a part of Sleek, 50,
In the City of Fort Worth, Texas, said passageway being more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the North line of Fourth Street
95 feet West of the intersection of the North line of Fourth
Street with the West line of Houston Street;
Thence in a northerly direction and parallel with the
West line of Houston street 75 3/4 feet;
Thence In a westerly direction, and parallel with the
North line of Fourth Street 10 feet;
Thence in a southerly direction and parallel with the
East line of Thr okmorton Street to a point in the North line
of Fourth Street which is 95 feet East of the East line of
ThrookmortoA Street;
Thence in an easterly direction along the North line
of Fourth Street 10 feet to the place of beginning;

SECTION II.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION III.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in Full
Force and effect from and after the date of its pgssage.

ordinance is an exact copy of an ordinance duly and regularly
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, at a regular meeting held in the Council Chamber
at the City Mall on Wednesday, the 21st day of February, A. D.
1945.
