Erwin, P.E., CCM (Freese & Nichols) The Water Department has received your e-mail dated November 14, 2022, for Contractor's Modification Request (CMR-003) for Electrical Building Roofing System. The precast concrete building specification does not provide adequate detail to get the roofing system that is necessary. Additional architectural details were provided to the Contractor who received three bids for the additional work. The lowest bid was reviewed bythe Engineer and should provide the necessary roofing system. The Water Department agrees with your recommendation that the contractor's proposed cost of $99.931.00 for this work should be accepted as the cost is fair and reasonable. No additional time has been requested. This office will recommend to the City Council (and/or the City Manager's Office), the approval and acceptance of this additional cost as part of a change order to be prepared and submitted by you to this office. Do not click any links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. David, On the Westside WTP Generator project, we did not include a specification in the bid for the roofing system that should go on top of the building. The precast concrete building specification does not provide adequate detail to get the roofing system that we needed. I talked with our architectural to see what we need. I provided the requirements to the Contractor and they received three bids (attached). The proposed bid is the lowest. I reviewed this with architectural and it should provide what is needed. The total change order amount would be $99,931(this includes contractor markup). The markup is in compliance with the contract documents. The specifications for the four pump stations and Holly will account forthis roofing requirements. I will call to discuss. Regards, Charlie Charles H.
