HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 17181-09-2006Ordinance No. X7181-09-2006 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RI=CEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS W THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $550,0()0 FROM A TRANSFER FROM THE WATER AND SEWER OPERATING FUND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING UNSPECIFIED PROJECTS; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES EN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2005- 2006 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $550,000 frorn a transfer from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund for the purpose of funding unspecified projects. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, Such decision, opinion nr judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full farce and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. (6582 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Authorize the City Manager to transfer $550,000.00 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Sealer Capltaf PrOjectS Fund; and 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by $550,000.00 in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund from increased revenues from available funds. ®ISCUSSION: These funds will be used to fund unspecified projects. The Water Department uses the balances in unspecified funds to provide for the preliminary work prier to award of design and construction contracts of specific projects. These funds may alsn be used to cash-finance water and sewer rehabilitation projects that will be competitively bid and presented to the City Council as contracts are to be awarded. FISCAL INFORMATIONICERTIFICATION: The Finance ©irector certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of the Sewer Capital Projects Funds.
