HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 002 (4) INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 23-002 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council January 24, 2023 Page 1 of 2 SUBJECT: 2023 HOUSING TAX CREDIT APPLICATIONS aVA Y673 This Informal Report lists the applications received by the Neighborhood Services Department for a Resolution of Support in order to apply for 9%Competitive Housing Tax Credits ("HTCs"). Each year TDHCA implements a Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) that outlines the scoring criteria for 9% HTC applications.The draft 2023 QAP states that 9% HTC applications can receive 17 points for a Resolution of Support or 14 points for a Resolution of No Objection from the governing body of the municipality in which the development is sited. Each year, the City adopts a Tax Credit Policy to incentivize developing affordable housing where it is most needed in the City and in a manner that aligns with the City's goals. The City's 2023 Tax Credit Policy required applicants to comply with several requirements, including notification requirements, public hearing requirements, and various administrative requirements. Staff is reviewing the applications to determine recommendations for each of the projects listed below and intends to brief the City Council at the February 7th Council Work Session.To comply with state deadlines for HTC applications, staff intends to seek Council's approval of the recommendations at the February 14th City Council meeting.
