A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS OF THE STEERING
COMMITTEE FOR THE ONE-SECOND COLLABORATIVE TO
PREVENT YOUTH GUN VIOLENCE
WHEREAS incidences of violent crime and gun violence in the City of Fort Worth (the "City")
have increased due to the pandemic;
WHEREAS the City of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Police Department, Tarrant County (the
"County"), the United Way of Tarrant County ("United Way"), and other stakeholders have come
together to address the escalating issue of youth gun violence impacting our community by and through
the creation of the One-Second Collaborative;
WHEREAS the One-Second Collaborative is a violence intervention program that uses a
community- and evidence-based approach to address youth gun violence through unification and
coordination of community members, community-based organizations, and City and County
departments that deliver critical supports for challenges facing our young people and community; and
WHEREAS the One-Second Collaborative will be led by a Steering Committee to be comprised
of eighteen (18) members as follows:
o Two (2)representatives from the City of Fort Worth,
o Two (2) representatives from the Fort Worth Police Department,
o Two (2) representatives from Tarrant County,
o Two(2)representatives from the United Way of Tarrant County,
o Five (5) representatives from Fort Worth neighborhoods with high rates of youth gun violence,
and
o Five(5)representatives from participating community organizations; and
WHEREAS the Fort Worth City Council wishes to appoint the two (2) representatives from the City
and to endorse the Police Chiefs appointment of two (2) representatives from the Fort Worth Police
Department;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF FORT WORTH CITY
COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Fort Worth City Council appoints the following individuals to represent the City on the
Steering Committee for the One-Second Collaborative:
o Councilmember Carlos Flores, as President of the Board of Directors for the Fort Worth
Crime Control and Prevention District, who shall serve as a Co-Chair of the Steering
Committee, and
o Councilmember Jared Williams.
Section 2. The Fort Worth City Council endorses the Fort Worth Police Chiefs appointment of
the following individuals to represent the Fort Worth Police Department on the Steering Committee:
o Executive Assistant Chief Robert Alldredge, who shall also serve as a Co-Chair of the
Steering Committee, and
o Deputy Chief Roy Hudson.
