AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE PUBLIC
WO&S DEPARTMENT: AWARDING THE CONTRACT OF THE
IMPROVEMENTS OF VARIOUS STREETS AT FOURTEEN
LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND
AUTHORIZED ITS EXECUTION: AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO PREPARE ESTIMATES
WHEREAS, by Ordinance Nos. 4306 thru 4321 passed and approved by the
City Council of the City of Fort Worth, the City Council determined the necessity
for and ordered the improvement of a portion of the following streets, to—wit:
UNIT NO. 1, Race Street: from the east line of Scenic Drive to
550 feet west of Sylvania
UNIT NO. 2, Fernander Dr. from the west line of Hervie Street to
the east line of Horne Street
UNIT NO. 3, Shiloh Dr. from the west line of Bourine Street
to the east line of Horne Street
UNIT NO. 4, N.E. 34th St. from the east line of Decatur Ave.
to the west line of Weber St.
UNIT NO. 5, Ash Crescent St. from the south line of Rosedale St.
to the north line of Irma St.
UNIT NO. 6, New York from the north line of Hattie St. to
the south line of Bessie St.
UNIT NO. 7, W. Spurgeon St. from the west line of College Ave. to
the east line of S. Adams St.
UNIT NO. 8, N.E. 37th St. from the wemt line of Decatur Ave.
to the west line of Terry St.
UNIT NO. 9, Curzon St. from the west line of Neville St. to
the west line of Merrick St.
UNIT NO. 10, Booker T. St. from the west line of Stalcup Rd. to
the east line of Andrew St.
UNIT NO. 11, Langston St. from the south line of Sunshine St.
to the south line of Fitzhugh St.
UNIT NO. 12, E. Tucker St. from the west line of Illinois Ave.
to the west line of Tennessee.
UNIT NO. 13, Bong Drive from the east line of Staleup Road
to the west line of Farrell Lane
UNIT NO. 14, Horse Street from the north line of W. Vickery to
the north line of Fernander
WHEREAS, subsequent to the passage and approval of said Ordinance, Plans
and Specifications for said improvements were submitted by the Public Works Director
and said Plans and Specifications were approved and adopted by the City Council; and,
WHER&kS. Notice to Bidders was given as required by the City Charter; and,
WHEREAS, the bid of Texas Bitulithic Construction Company was found
to be the lowest and best bid for the making and construction of said improvements,
to-wit; Excavation of present streets, construction of various types of pavement
with combined curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances, all as provided by said
Plans and Specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That the work of making and constructing such improvements and contracts
therefore is hereby awarded to Texas Bitulithie Construction Company, at and for
the prices stated in the proposal of the said Company and as reported and recommended
by the Public Works Department. The City Manager and City Secretary are hereby
directed to execute the said contract in the name of the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
and to impress the corporate seal of the City thereon, the said contract embracing
therein, among other things, the prices for the work.
SECTION II.
That to provide for the payment of the indebtedness incurred by the City
of Fort Worth by said Contract, there is hereby appropriated out of available funds,
which have been set aside for said purpose an amount sufficient to pay said
indebtedness so incurred.
SECTION III
That the Public Works Director of the City of Fort Worth be, and he is
hereby ordered and directed to file with the City Council estimates of the cost
of such improvements in accordance with the terms of the powers and provisions of
Chapter 106 of the Acts of the First called session of the Fortieth Legislature of
the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernonts Civil Statutes of the
State of Texas, Annotated, which law has been adopted as an amendment to and made
a part of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth.

On the basis of the lowest bid submitted in the amount of $207,974. 10 by
Axas Bitelithic Co. , the City's portion of the cdot will be $751911.75
and the property owner's cost will be $ 132,038.35.
It is recommended that the City Quail adopt an ordinance awarding the
contract to Texas Bitulithic Compohy.
It is also reccomended that the roport of the Director of Finance, stating
there are sufficient funds available for this project, be adopted.
