Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying; adjacent to the City of Fort 'worth
is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate liedts and a'raade an integral part of
said City of Fort Worth, said territory being, situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and
being described by metes and bounds as follows:
Being a tract of land about five (,�) miles east from the Gourt House of Tarrant
County, Texas, and lying in the "al. 1,ia.nn, L. 'Taylor, P. L. Coleman, W. J. Baker, and
E. Jones Survey=s, and bei.np more fully described as follows:
PILGINNING at a point in 'Lhe present city Ii.it line of the City of Fort
Worth, in the westerly right-of-way of Handley Drive (County Road 2054), at
its intersection with the north right-of-way line of the Fort Worth-Dallas
Turnpike;
TR�NC:E, north along the westerly ri fkht-of.°-w'ay line of Handley Drive
(County Road 2054) to a point 1,000 feet south of the south line of the
IV. N. Flay Survey;
1}i1 DXE, westerly alon,° a line parallel to and 1,00C, feet south of the
south line of the 1d. N. hay Survey aax:C parallel to and 1,000 feet south of
the south line of the W. 14. Ray Survey produced west, to its intersection
with the east line of the P. E. Colesavin Survey;

Section 2.
That this ordinance shadl and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance in con-
flict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in
direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published
in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter
XXVIII of the City Charter.
Section 4.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance
is for any reason held void or unconstitu-Li=il by a court of competent jurisciction,
such invalidity shall not affect the vali'Lity of the remaining sections, subsections,,
clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the s,,me are inseparable front and
indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance.
Section 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon
its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the
date of its publication , as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.

An industrial' biu'i 1 d l nag and a number of outdoor advertising signs have been
constructed along the north side of the Fart Werth-Dallas TurnpIke` in an
r area which was annexed to Fort Worth under first reading by Ordinance too.
4422 can January 6, 1961 . It i s not necessary to obta i n a bu i l d i ng perm i t
to �co'rt trust all bp,i l d ing or other str ucture i n an area that i s underr f i rst
ro'e'di'ng, annexation, nor is such an area ubject to zoning control .
Anoexdt i on of a strip between 300 feet and 1440 feet in depth along the
north side of the Turnpike wrou l d provide building and zoning control over
this area, preventing sporadic construction which generally leads to the
blighting of an area. To annex this strip it will, be necessary to separate
the area presently included In Ordinance a. 4422 into two areas covered by
separate ordinances, and then annex the part adjacent to the "Turnpi"ke 30
days henca.'
