ORDINANCE
WORTH,
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN
SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER;
AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYI14G AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort
Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral
part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County,
Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of land about 7.5 miles northwest from the Courthouse
of Tarrant County, Texas, and lying in an including all or part of the
J. B. McGee, S. Townsend, Wm. Jean, J. Bowman, and Wm. Doshier Surveys
and being more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line of the City
of Fort Worth, in the north line of the S. Townsend Survey, 1000 feet
west from the west line of the Wm. Dean Survey;
THENCE east, along the present City Limit Line of the City of
Fort Worth, the north line of the S. Townsend Survey and the north line
of the S. Townsend Survey produced east, to its intersection with the
east right-of-way line of State Farm-to-Market Road No. 1220 in the Wm.
Dean Survey;
THENCE north, along the present City Limit Line of the City of
Fort Worth, the east right-of-way line of State Farm-to-Market Road No.
1220, to its intersection with the south right-of-way line of County
Road No. 4030;
THENCE east and southeasterly, along the present City Limit Line
of the City of Fort Worth, the south and southwesterly right-of-way
line of County Road No. 4030, to its intersection with the east line of
the Wm. Doshier Survey;
THENCE north, along the east line of the Wm. Doshier Survey and
the east line of the Wm. Doshier Survey produced north, to a point 200
feet north from the northeast right-of-way line of County Road No. 4030;
THENCE west, along the south right-of-way line of the Texas
Electric Power Transmission line, to a point 1000 feet west from the
west line of the Wm. Dean Survey;
THENCE south, along a line parallel to and 1000 feet west from
the west line of the Wm. Dean Survey, to the place of beginning and
containing approximately .187 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in
conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not
in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper
published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
Section 4.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this
ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent
jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining
sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same
are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance.
Section 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect
upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days
from the date of its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
