'�Q SECRETARY " WORTH, m AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE EAST-WEST ALLEYS IL7 - "-""""""" BLOCKS 71 AND 72, CHAMBERLAIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ADDI- TION, SECOND FILING, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, A PORTION OF KILPATRICK AVENUE BETWEEN SAID BLOCKS IN SAID ADDITION, A PORTION OF THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 30 OF SAID ADDITION, AND A PORTION OF DRISKELL BOULEVARD IN SUNSET HEIGHTS SOUTH, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BETWEEN BONNELL AND SUNSET STREETS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE RE- VERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEAALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the east-west alleys in Blocks 71 and 72, Chamberlain Arlington Heights, Second Filing, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, and that portion of Kil- patrick Avenue between said Blocks 71 and 72 in said addition, as platted and recorded in Vol. 63, page 44, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same are hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as alleys or public thorough- fares of any kind or character whatever, save and except ease- ments are reserved for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 2. That a portion of the north-south alley in Block 30, Cham- berlain Arlington Heights, Second Filing, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, and lying be- tween the east lot lines of Lots 10 and 11 and the west lot line of Lot 12, as platted and recorded in Vol. 63, page 21, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatevero, save and except easements are reserved for any and all exist- ing utilities. SECTION 3. That the hereinafter described portion of Driskell Boule- vard in Sunset Heights South, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, lying between Bonnell and Sunset Streets, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever, save and except easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities: The westerly 20 feet of Driskell Boulevard, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the southerly right of way line of Bonnell Street and the westerly right of way line of Driskell Boulevard as platted prior to March 9, 1961, and recorded in Vol. 388-Y, page 3, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas; Thence east along a projection of the south right of way line of Bonnell Street, to a point for corner, said point being 20 feet from said westerly line of Driskell Boulevard measured perpendicularly to said westerly line, said point for corner also being the northeast corner of Lot 43, Block 12, Sunset Heights South, Section 2, as recorded March 9, 1961, in Vol. 388-24, page 15, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas; Thence southeasterly along a line parallel to and 20 feet from the westerly right of way line of Driskell Boulevard as platted prior to March 9, 1961, to a point in the easterly line of Lot 31, Block 12, Sunset Heights South, section 2, said point being 31 feet southerly of the northeast corner of said Lot 31 as platted after March 9, 19617 Thence southwesterly along a straight line to a point in the east line of Lot 30, Block 12, Sunset Heights South, Section 2, said point being 24 feet north of the southeast corner of said Lot 30; Thence northwesterly along the westerly right of way line of Driskell Boulevard as platted on recorded plat in Vol. 388-Y, page 3, of the Plat Records of Tar- rant County, Texas, to the point of beginning. SECTION 4. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said portions of streets and alleys is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. " t OAT F�w r E sur EC7: Proposed "triet ley os- PAGE r r i„n s in Chamberlain Arlington Rts., 2nd 10/21/ PZ- t f"il3n� and sunset Zits South Additions r of — Mr. Joe Dris; ell, developer of Sunset Heights 'South Addition, has requested the following street and alley closings : ) that east,­ est alleys in Blocks 71 anv 72, 2) Kilpatrick, Avenue between Blocks 71 and 72; ) the portion of the north- South alley in Block 30 adjoining the east line of Lots 10 and 11, Chamberlain, Arlington Heights,, Second Filing; end ) the westerly 20 feet of 'ris el"l Blvd. between Bernell and sunset Streets. The Trent man tlo pan °, the only other owner of abutting, property, has also signed the request for ;the closings. The proposed closings are shown on the attached plat. Since the original' plattin s, some of which were recorded in 1890, subdivision de- sign standards have changed. In carder to re-plot the area permitting more desir- able lots and streets with laical alignment, it is proposed that the designated streets and alleys be closed_, The Public Works, 'Traffic Engineering, Water and Planning Departments agree that closing the rights-of-wavy as requested will permit more logical development of the area. Private utility companies have been contacted and offer no objections provided; easements are retained for existing utilities.
