HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5638 ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT SABINE DRIVE BETWEEN BLUE MOUND ROAD ON THE WPST AND DECATUR AVENUE ON THE EAST BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Sabine Drive between Blue Mound Road on the west and. Decatur Avenue on the east in Blocks 38 and 39, Sabine Place Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind. or character whatever, save and except that easements are retained for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and. shall revert to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained. Proposed Vacation - Portion of PAGE NUMBER ikv�o �00 Sabine Drive I of 1 11400 8/28166 'PZ-205 :� ONE" Sabine Valley Lumber Company, owner of adjoining property, has requested the vacation of Sabine Drive from Blue: Wund Road east to Decatur Avenue, as shown on the attached map. The owners of lot 16-R, block 38 and, lot 2, block 39, do not object to the proposed vacation. The applicant plans to develop the property as an apartment complex and shopping center . Private utility companies and City Departments have reviewed the request and do not object to the proposed vacation, provided the property is re- platted to eliminate any lots which would be left without street frontage. The City Plan Conviission has reviewed the requested closing and recommends adoption of an ordinance that has been prepared vacating Sabine Drive as requested, provided the applicant files a replat of the street and adjoin- ing property. A subdivision plat has been filed which is acceptable to the City Plan Commission. City Council action on the Plan Counnission recommendation is requested. JLB:lp Attach.
