Mr. Dayton C. Sheridan, Agent, with written consent of all adj,oining property
owners, has requested the City to vacate a portion of the'U. �S. Highway 80 West
Service Road right-of-way. , The area requested to be, vacate'&is` the north 37
feet of right-of-way abutting the south property line of Block 3, Broadmoor
Addition, between Broadmoor Drive and Faye Drive as shown on the attached map.
The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is 678 feet `'in, length and
gravel surfaced. The existing 212 foot right-of-repay is much-greater than is
needed since the opening of 1-20, and the remaining 175 feet, is--all that will
be required in the future. The new right-of-way line will conform with the
new right-of-way line created by vacation of the service road adjacent to
Western Hills Addition and Block 2, Broadmoor Addition.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and
have no objection to this vacation, provided the applicant plats the vacated
right-of-way with adjoining properties and retains the vacated right-of-way
as a utility easement.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of
an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested,,,'subject to the
conditions recommended above, by the, City departments and private utility
companies. The applicant has submitted a replat 'which incorporates the
conditions requested by the City Plan Commission.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way
as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
