AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL PURPOSE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$500,000 .00, FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS IN ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER
PROJECT (CITY PROJECT S00026), FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSFERRING
TO THE SPECIAL DONATIONS LTD FUND; PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there s hall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special
Purpose Fund in the amount of $500,000.00, from available funds in Animal Adoption Center Project (City
project No. S00026), for the purpose of transfe rrin g to the Special Donations LTD Fund.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section ofthis ordinance be declared invalid, inop erative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision , opinion or judgment shall in no way impair
the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remainin g provi sions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That thi s ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance 25773-09-2022 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of thi s ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of
said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption .

Animal Adoption Center Project
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt the attached ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Purpose Fund in the amount of $500 ,000 .00
from available funds in Animal Adoption Center Pro ject (City Project No . S00026), for the purpose of transferring to the Special Donations
LTD Fund; and
2. Adopt the attached ordinance inc reasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Donations LTD Fund, in the amount of
$500 ,000.00 transferred from available funds within the Special Purpose Fund , for the purpose of funding Code Compliance Donations
Project (City Project No. S0017 4 ).
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to appropriate funding in the Special Donations LTD Fund to support the shelter
maintenance and enhance the welfare of animals under the City 's custody from the Animal Adoption Center Project within the Special Purpose
Fund.
This funding transfer would include minor equipment purchases, outside training, and building improvements for the Silco x Shelter located at 4900
Martin Street. These build ing improvements cons ist of but are not limited to :
• Replacement of surgery lights
• HVAC duct cleaning
• Concrete work
• Sheetrock work
• Various dog and cat habitat accessories
Funding is budgeted in the Animal Adoption Center Project within the Special Purpose Fund for the purpose of funding the Special Donat ions LTD
Fund to support the animal welfare of the City of Fort Worth.
A Form 1295 is not required because : This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION/ CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies funds are currently available in the Animal Adoption Center project within the Special Purpose Fund and upon
approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinances , funds will be available in the Special Donations
LTD Fund for the Code Compliance Donations project. Prior to an expenditure being incurred , the Code Compliance Department has the
responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
