AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AN
ALLEY IN BLOCK 51, RIVERSIDE ADDITION, ADJACENT
TO LOTS 1-12 A WIDTH OF 201 AND A LENGTH OF APPROX-
IMATELY 2851 WESTWARD FROM RIVERSIDE DRIVE; VACATING,
ABANDONING AND CLOSING THAT PORTION OF SOUTH CHANDLER
AVENUE IN THE 400 BLOCK A WIDTH OF 60' AND A LENGTH
OF APPROXIMATELY 37' FROM THAT PORTION OF SOUTH CHAN-
DLER AVENUE PREVIOUSLY CLOSED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2152
NORTHWARD TO THE SOUTH LINE OF CHICAGO-ROCK ISLAND
AND PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND, SAVE AND EXCEPT
THAT EASEMENTS ARE RETAINED FOR EXISTING UTILITIES;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the alley in Block 51, Riverside Addition, adjacent
to Lots 1-12 a width of 20' and a length of approximately 285'
westward from Riverside Drive and that portion of South Chandler
Avenue in the 400 Block a width of 60' and a length of approx-
imately 37' from that portion of South Chandler Avenue previously
closed by ordinance No. 2152, Northward to the South line of
Chicago-Rock Island and Pacific Railroad right-of-way be and
the same are hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated
as an alley and as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind
or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the hereinabove described
alley in Block 51, Riverside Addition and in that portion of
South Chandler Avenue in the 400 Block hereinabove described
are hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owners
as provided by law, SAVE and EXCEPT that easements are re-
served for any and all existing utilities including sanitary
sewer, electric and telephone facilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage and
it is so ordained.

F. D. Mueller, owner of Lots 6-12 and part of Lots 1-5, Block 51; south
Portions of Lots 7, 8 & 9, Block, 52 and former portions of Lawnwood and
Chandler Streets closed by Ordinance No. 2152, all in Riverside Addition,
has 'requested that the City vacate the alley in Block 51 adjacent to Lots
1-12 as width of 20' and as length of approximately 285 ft. westward from
Riverside Drive and to vacate that portion of South Chardler Avenue In the
4GO block as width of 60 ft . , as length of approximately 37 ft. from that.
portion of S. Chandler previously closed by Ord. No. 21,52 northward to the
south line of C.R.I. and P. Railroad right-of-way, as shown on the attached
map.
The subject alley right-of-way, acquired by dedication, contains sanitary
sewer, electric and telephone facilities, and is paved and partially open
for use. The subject street right-of-way, also acquired by dedicat"t,on, is
not open and there is a concrete wall located 'between the railroad and street
right-of-way. The Water Department, Texas Electric Service Company and
Bell Telephone Company have requested that easements be 'retained for their
facilities.
Reviewing, City Departments and private utility companies have no objections
to this request provided:
I. The vacated right-of-way is replatted with abutting pro�perty;
2. Easements are retained for al,l existing utilities unless abandonment
or relocation arrangements are made;
The City Plan Connission has reviewed this request and recommends that an
ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as requested.
A satisfactory replat has been sub witted to City Staft, and relocation arrange-
ments for the, utilities in the alley have been accomplished.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way
as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
