AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING
POTTS ROAD, A WIDTH OF 40' IN THE 3300 THROUGH
3800 BLOCKS OUT OF THE W. W. THOMPSON SURVEY,
AND A LENGTH OF 2740 FEET WESTWARD FROM THE
WEST LINE OF ALTA VISTA ROAD; PROVIDING FOR
THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; RE-
PEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described street right-of-way
be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently
abandoned as a right-of-way for street purposes, said
abandoned right-of-way being more particularly described
as follows:
Being 2.516 acres out of the heirs of the W. W.
Thompson Survey, Abstract No. 1498, and the D. E.
Norton Survey, Abstract No. 1167, Tarrant County,
Texas, and being a protion of those certain tracts
conveyed to Cambridge Realty Development Corporation
by deed recorded in Volume 5928, Page 67, and Volume
5928, Page 61, Tarrant County Deed Records, said
2.516 acres being a 40.0 foot wide strip of land
20.0 feet each side of and parallel to the centerline
of Potts Road as it now exists and being more par-
ticularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the existing west right-of-way
line of North Beach Street and its intersection with
said centerline of Potts Road, said point being
northerly 2660 feet from the intersection of said
west right-of-way line with the centerline of
Watauga-Smithfield Road;
THENCE West 2740 feet along the centerline of said
Potts Road to the end of said centerline and said
right-of-way to be vacated and containing 2.516
acres of land.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described street
right-of-way is hereby released and will revert to the ad-
jacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that ease-
ments are retained for any and all existing utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage and
it is so ordained.

Cambridge Realty Development Corporation has requested that the City vacate
Potts Road, a width of 40 feet In the 3300 through 3800 blocks out of the
W. W. Thompson Survey, and a length of 2740 feet westward from the west line
of Alta Vista Road, as shown on the attached map.
The subject right-of-way is open to traffic by a very rough county road. The
road contains no other improvements or utilities.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommend approval.
The Plan Commission also stipulated that the "Summerfields" portion of this
right-of-way be final platted and that the subject right-of-way be physically
removed. A satisfactory plat for Summerfields has now been submitted and
the roadway paving will be removed during the development of the addition.
