HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 17240-10-2006Ordinance No. 17240-10-2006 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATI=D RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUNb IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,643, AS DONATIONS ARE RECEIVED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE HOUSING DEPARTMENT'S COWTOWN BRUSH UP PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAK[NG THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN E>"1"ECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments far Fiscal Year 2006-2007 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there small also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $8,643, as donations are received, far the purpose of funding the Housing Department's Cowtawn Brush Up Program. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, ar parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in fall force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance sha![ be cumulative of Ordinance Na. 17142 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Accept donations to the Cowtown Brush Up {CTBU) Program totaling $25,256; and 2. Adopt the attached Appropriation Ordinance increasing the estimated receipts and appropriations by $8,643 in the Special Trust Fund for the CTBU. ®ISCtiSSION: In the adapted budget for i=Y05-06, the Special Trust Fund has $16,893 appropriated for donations for the CTBU. This M&C requests appropriation for the additional donations in the amount $8,843. The groups and individuals listed in the attachment donated a total of $25,258 to the CTBU. On Saturday, October 7, 2006, the City of Fort Worth Housing Department sponsored the 18th Annual CTBU. One hundred and fifty {150) Names awned by low-income homeowners, particularly e[deriy, had their homes painted by approximately 3,000 volunteers from private business, churches, schools, civic organizations and City of Fort Worth employees. The paint was donated by Behr Paint Company. Cash donations are used to defray other costs related to CTBU such as information brochures, T-shirts and refreshments for volunteers. CBTU is available in ALL COUNCIL bISTRICTS. FISCAL INFORMATIONICERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached Appropriation Ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the Special Trust Fund.
