in accordance with the policy regarding the purchasw, :sale or lease of real prop-
erty, it is recommended that approval be given for a Pipe Line License Permit in
the area described below, and that tha Mayor be authorized to execute an agree-
ment between the City of Fort North and ::he Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad
Company. This permit is required to provide for the construction, reconstruction
and maintenance of a 16-inch water transmission main and appurtenances thereto tc
serve the City of Sagin#w to be constructed over and across the Gulf, Colorado
and Santa Fe Railroad. Company's property north of 'es.cham Fbeid and alor-g the
east side of State Highway 287 (U, S. Hi-,away 81) .
Description of Land
A strip of land along the west line of a tract from the S.A. & M.G. R.R, Survey,
E. Tones Survey and the J. Hibbins Survey, with said strip adjoining and adjacent
tc the east side of State ?-Iignway 287 (U S, Highway 81) , being a total length of
approximately 6,200 feet and varying in width from 15 to 20 feet, containing ap-
proximately 100,000 sruire feet, required for a permanent easement, Also, a
strip of land 25 feet +in width adjacent and parallel to the east line of the per-
manent easement and including all the -rea extending to the west property line,
containing approximately 163,000 square feet required for a construction ease-
ment, This property is presently utilized as the Saginaw Terminal Freight Yards,
i7hich the Railroad Company contemplates enlarging in future years.
Under the propooed agreement, this Pipe Line License Permit will continue in
force fo- a period of 25 years, and thereafter is subject to termination oy
either -arty upon 60 days notice in writing. Normally all installations by the
Cit.i granted by pipe line license permits are subject to termination at any time
by either party upon 10 days notice in writing, !
It is recommended that approval be given for the payment of $5,050 to be made to
the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad Company for the pipe line usage rights
:.'<nd temporary construction easement over and across land presently utilized as
the Sag:.naw Termina� Freight Yard. Payment to be made from Project No. 109-
15000-2732.

On May 13, 1968 (M&C L--2211) , the City Ccuncil authorized the Mayor to
execute an agrealuer r I etween the City of Fort Worth aT d the Gulf, Colorado
and Santa Fe railroad Company for a Pipe Line License Permit to provide for
the cor,suruct'on, reconstruction and m _ -)tenance of a 16-inch water trans-
mission main ana appurtenances thereto to serve the City of Saginaw. The
actual name of this company is the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway
Company, and correcti�;n of this discrepancy is needed in order to curnplete
this transaction.
It is reco:nrmended that approval be given for the pa;nnent of $5,050 to the
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company for the pipe line usage rigbts
and temporary construction easement ovEr and across the Saginaw Terrainal

On the 3rd day of June, A. D. , 1968, th. City Counc+.1 of the
City of Fort Worth. Texas, met in regular session with the following members
present, to wit:
Mayor DeWitt McKinley, Councilmen Harris P. Hoover, R. M. Stovall,
Ira Kersnick, Vaughn Wilson, Edward W. Guinn, Frank G. Dunham, Jr.,
W. S. Kemble, Jr., and William R. Sarsgard; City Manager H. B. McMahan;
City Attorney S. G. Johndroe, Jr. ; City Secretary Roy A. Bateman; with
more than a quorum present, at which time the following business, among
other things, was transacted.
There was presented Mayor and Council Communication No. L-2231
from the City Manager stating that on May 13, 1968, the City Council
authorized the Mayor to execute an agreement between the City or
Fort Worth and the Gulf, Colorado and Santa le Railroad Company for
a Pipe Line License Permit to provide for the construction, recon-
struction and maintenance of a 16-inch water transmission main and
appurtenances thereto to serve the City of Saginaw, that the actual,
name of this company is the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway
Company, and correction of this discrepancy is needed in order to
complete this transaction, and recommending that approval be given
for the payment of $5,050.00 to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway Company for the pipe line usage rights and temporary construc-
tion easement across the Saginaw Terminal Freight Yard, and on motion
of Councilman Sarsgard, seconded by Councilman Kersnick, the recommen-
dation was adopted.
