CONTRACT
for the
LOOSELEAF SUPPLEMENT SERVICE
for the
CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS

This agreement, made and entered into this !2
day of , 1974, by and between the MUNICIPAL
CODE CO PORATION, a corporation duly organized and existing under the
laws of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to as the Corporation
and the CITY OF FORT WORTH, a municipal Corporation in the State
of Texas, hereinafter referred to as the municipality.
WITNESSETH: That upon the terms and conditions set forth
in this contract, the Corporation and the municipality hereby agree as
follows:
I. The Corporation hereby agrees to maintain the Code of the
municipality up-to-date by means of publishing Looseleaf Supplements,
containing the new ordinances of a general and permanent nature passed
subsequent thereto.
II. In the performance of this agreement, it is requested that
the ordinances be forwarded to the Corporation following official enactment
by the municipality. The Corporation will publish the Looseleaf Supplements
as often as the municipality desires. The time required for completion and
shipment of the Supplements from the date of the schedule established, will
be thirty (30) to forty-five (45) days. 'There shall be no penalties or
additional charges incurred on the part of the municipality for more or less
frequent publication dates.
III. The Corporation will study the new ordinances in conjunction
with the existing provisions of the Code for the purpose of determining if
any provisions of the basic Code are repealed, amended or superseded. The
page or pages of the Code, containing g P rovisions that are specifically

repealed or amended by ordinance shall be reprinted or printed to remove
such repealed or amended provisions and insert the new ordinances.

Appropriate amendment or other editorial notes will be prepared and
appended to the new sections, explaining the effect of the new ordinance
on the repealed or amended provisions, as deemed necessary by the
Corporation. History notes will follow each section of the Code when
inserted, which notes will include references to the new ordinances
from which the section is derived.
IV. The Corporation will prepare a Comparative Table listing
the ordinances included in each Supplement, and setting out the location
thereof. This Table will be inserted preceding the Index.
V. The Corporation will make recommendations as to style
and format, which recommendations can be incorporated into the
Supplements as pages affected by ordinance are printed or reprinted,
if desired by the municipality.
VI. When the inclusion of new material necessitates changes
in the Index, appropriate entries will be prepared and printed, or when
necessary pages of the Index will be printed or reprinted to include the
new entries.
VII. Each Supplement will contain a page of instructions for
removal of the old pages and the insertion of the new pages.
VIII. The Corporation will prepare the ordinances editorially
and print Four Hundred (400) copies of each Supplement for the sum of
TWELVE DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($12. 50) per page, including
blank pages.
IX. For the purpose of this agreement, a page is hereby
defined as the area on one (1) side of a sheet of paper. A sheet contains
two (2) pages.
X. In the event the manuscriptfor the Supplements to the Code
shall contain tables, drawings, designs, Algebra formulae and the like
for which either engraved cuts or other methods of reproduction other than

straight linotype operation are required, the cost of such engravings or
tabular matter will be additional to the costs as provided in Paragraph VIII
above.
XI. The Supplements will be shipped to the municipality for
distribution to the holders of the Codes. The shipment will be prepaid and
invoiced at the time of final billing of each Supplement. The municipality
shall have the exclusive right to sell the Codes and Supplements.
XII. All money due the Corporation for the publication of
Looseleaf Supplements will be due and payable upon shipment of each
Supplement to the municipality and shall be payable within thirty (30) days
after the date the municipality is invoiced for the same by the Corporation,
without interest.
XIII. The terms of this contract shall be in full force and
effect for a period of two (2) years.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the Corporation has caused this
agreement to be executed by the signing of its authorized officers and the
affixing of its corporate seal and the municipality has caused this
agreement to be executed by the signing of its authorized officers and the
affixing of its corporate seal, this day and year first written above.

On June 12. 1974 (M&C C-2831) , the City Council authorized a contract
with Municipal Code Corporation to supplement the City Code for a period
of two years at a cost of $12.50 per page for the approximately 400 codes
originally published.
Four hundred copies of Supplement No. 7 to the City Code have been re-
ceived, together with an invoice, in accordance with the contract, for
$560.19.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council authorize payment of $560.19 to
M micipal od - orno ation, in accordance with the contract.
