The local cost share for the program is 20% and is expected to be paid leveraging 2022 Bond funds. Two -Hundred and One Million dollars is available through this year's TA project call. Detailed scopes and cost estimates are currently in development for each project. The first two projects were selected based on identified needs in local or regional plans, location on the high -injury network, partnership opportunities, and ability to leverage planned projects and funds (e.g. roadway restriping). The third is a regionally significant trail project that would connect to the already funded Bomber Spur Trail Phase one project to the north creating a 3.1-mile bicycle/pedestrian connection. McPherson -Summer Creek Safe Streets This project includes multiple segments including McPherson Boulevard from Chisolm Trail Parkway to South Hulen Street, South Hulen Street from McPherson Boulevard to Nightingale Drive, and Summer Creek Boulevard on either side of McPherson Boulevard. The project includes retrofitting existing bike lanes to fully protected bike lanes, enhanced pavement markings, and other operational and safety improvements. Everman Parkway Safe Streets This is a joint project with the City of Everman to create safe routes to parks, schools and services. Pedestrian, safety, and operational improvements such as protected bike lanes, upgraded/new sidewalks, and intersection enhancements are being examined for the Parkway from Oak Grove Road to Forest Hill Drive, and several connecting streets. City of Everman and Tarrant County are expected to be cost -share partners with this application. Bomber Spur Trail Phase 2 This project will design and construct a 12' wide shared use path from the end of Bomber Spur Phase I pedestrian bridge at Camp Bowie Blvd / US 377 to Vickery Boulevard, including a pedestrian crossing over Southwest Blvd /US 183 and a trail extension along Vickery Blvd to Willis Ave. PARD has requested CFW Partnership funds for the 20% local match, if that request is unsuccessful they will utilize 2022 Bond funds instead. CFW Partnership funds would be preferable as using 2022 Bond funds would reduce the amount of available funds for two other trail gap projects. Scopes and cost estimates for these projects are still being developed and finalized. A resolution granting permission for staff to submit project applications will be included in the May 23, 2023 City Council materials.
